Luxury bathroom sinks and mirrors

Stylish bathrooms trends to look out for in 2024

The bathroom is so much more than a place to take a shower or brush your teeth; in recent years, they’ve evolved into a personal sanctuary, a place you can go to relax and unwind and at NPM, we understand that.

We have more than 30 years of experience in designing and providing luxury bathrooms and wet rooms that combine style and value. Our in-house experts stay up-to-date with the latest trends so they can offer you the most current advice and guidance (and so you don’t have to). So, if you’re looking to renovate your bathroom, here are some of the most exciting new trends for 2024 that need to be on your design radar.

Vertical tile stacking

This first trend is fresh from the streets of stylish New York City, or should we say, the New York Underground: vertical tile stacking. You may be thinking, what’s so special about stacking tiles slightly differently than normal? Well, let us explain. The New York subway tile style is famous for its brick-like formation. Long gone are the days of symmetrical stacked square tiles. This tiling style is all about historic charm, texture and colour.

This style utilises smaller, slimmer tiles as opposed to larger sheets of tile. The smaller pieces form a perfectly non-uniformed, characterful and almost mosaic look. That, and it’s great for giving the illusion of space and, therefore, ideal for smaller bathrooms.

Biodynamic lighting

The next big trend of 2024 is biodynamic lighting, or human-central lighting. Innovative and intelligent, biodynamic lighting replicates the dynamic light variations of natural daylight/sunlight via a management system, linking to our circadian rhythm (the physical, mental, and behavioural changes you experience over 24 hours). Unlike regular lighting, biodynamic lighting can influence our mood because of the way our body responds to light and dark. This can help with your mood, sleep, and productivity, as well as a host of other factors.

Wet rooms

We’ve been ahead of the game on this trend here at NPM. We’ve been creating beautiful wet rooms for our customers for years, but now wet rooms are truly having their moment in the spotlight.

More and more people are choosing to install wet rooms in 2024. They provide a modern and practical way to create a spacious and barrier-free bathroom space that’s just as beautiful and stylish as your stand bathroom setting. They don’t require a separate shower enclosure or bathtub. Wet rooms are also accessible for people with mobility issues. They look stylish and contemporary, with clean lines and sleek finishes. Plus, they’re easy to clean and fully customisable any design preference.

Of course, taste is subjective when it comes to bathroom design. What may be on trend at the moment may not necessarily be what speaks to you personally. That being said, if you’re still finalising your design plans, we hope that our blog on the top bathroom trends for 2024 was helpful!
