Most traditional bathrooms aim to recreate a sense of being established and historic, so they often use more conventional design features such as cross-head taps, freestanding baths, basin pedestals and chain-flush toilets. Softer edges and more rounded features are also key elements of the Traditional design aesthetic, usually complemented by a simple white colour scheme, or soft pastel shades. In recent years, though, more and more designers have been refreshing the style by experimenting with more vibrant or metallic tones, creating traditional bathrooms with their own unique sense of personality.
