Our favourite inspirations for clever bathroom storage solutions

Clutter can accumulate notoriously quickly in the bathroom, as it’s a space where your toiletries, towels, and various personal care items are all competing for limited storage. So to keep it clear, tidy and clutter-free, it’s worth thinking about some clever organisation solutions.

Now, to maximise storage in the bathroom, it’s all about making sure you utilise every inch of available space efficiently. We’ve had plenty of experience with that ourselves here at NPM Bathrooms, with our designers having produced some brilliantly efficient and minimalist spaces for our customers. So with that in mind, here are our top tips!

Things are looking up with vertical storage

It’s worth starting by looking at vertical spaces where you can maximise storage. For example, you can install tall, narrow shelving units or cabinets to take advantage of wall space. Floating shelves can also comprise a stylish and functional addition, providing a place for decorative items while keeping essentials within reach. Best of all, this vertical approach not only maximises storage but also gives the illusion of a larger and more organised bathroom.

Come on down with under-the-sink organisers

The area under the sink is often underutilised, so that’s another prime candidate for innovative storage. One way you can do this is by installing pull-out trays or baskets to make items easily accessible. Adjustable shelves can accommodate items of varying heights, from cleaning supplies to extra toiletries. Additionally, you can use clear containers to keep smaller items visible and organised.

Open up new possibilities with over-the-door storage

Doors are generally excellent candidates for storage. For example, you might want to consider adding over-the-door organisers with pockets or hooks for items like hairdryers, brushes, and accessories. This space-saving solution is especially beneficial in smaller bathrooms where every inch counts. Over-the-door caddies can also be used for storing towels, keeping them within easy reach without taking up precious cabinet or drawer space.

Split the difference with drawer dividers and inserts

Drawers can quickly become chaotic without proper organisation. For that reason alone, you might want to take a look at drawer dividers and inserts to create designated spaces for different items. Separating toiletries, cosmetics, and grooming tools ensures that each item has its place, making it easier to find what you need. Adjustable dividers are also worth thinking about, as they allow you to customise the space according to your storage needs.

Bathroom furniture with built-in storage

Another way to go is by choosing bathroom furniture that serves a dual purpose by combining style with functionality. Vanities with built-in drawers or shelves provide ample storage space while maintaining a polished look. It always helps to choose furniture pieces selectively – make sure to keep an eye out for those with doors and drawers that can help you hide clutter and maintain a streamlined appearance.

And of course, while you’re at it, it’s a good idea to identify and make use of those often-overlooked or wasted spaces in the bathroom. You may want to consider installing shelves or cabinets above the toilet for extra storage. Corner shelves or cabinets can also effectively utilise corners, providing a spot for items without taking up valuable floor space.

Transforming your bathroom into a clutter-free zone requires thoughtful organisation and efficient use of available space, and effective use of the right storage solutions can help you create a serene and functional bathroom that meets both your aesthetic and practical needs.
